Andrew Wainwright, Deputy Divisional Music & Arts Director
Andrew Wainwright was born in St Leonards, England and is the son of Salvation Army officer parents. Andrew has lived in four different countries, including Kenya, Zimbabwe and the USA. He holds a BA Music Degree and an HND in Graphic Design. Andrew is a keen composer and his music has been featured by groups around the world, including at the Boundless International Congress at London’s O2 Arena. In November 2012, a CD of Andrew's music, Christmas Fantasia - The Music of Andrew Wainwright, was released by Virtuosi GUS Band. Andrew has been commissioned to write solos for numerous brass soloists and bands and has had a number of pieces published by various companies. In addition, his music features on over a dozen CD recordings. As a performer, conductor and tutor, Andrew has completed tours to the USA, Switzerland, Portugal, Cyprus, Kenya, Mexico, Jamaica, Norway, Denmark, Kenya and Zambia. He has played with numerous musical groups internationally, although the highlight of his playing career was performing with World and European Champions, Cory Band, at the Royal Albert Hall, London. Andrew has in the past been a member of the Chicago Staff Band, Kettering Citadel Band and Hendon Band. Andrew has a passion for Africa and has been responsible for the organization of a number of charity concerts, in particular his Brass for Africa - A Musical Spectacular series which raised funds for various African projects.From 2013-2015, Andrew was Divisional Music & Arts Director for the Wisconsin & Upper Michigan Division.Andrew is married to his wife Laura, with whom he moved to Dallas in September 2015.
